About Gareth Oliver.
Gareth Oliver is the visionary founder of Shakti Breathe, a transformative platform dedicated to holistic healing and personal empowerment through breathwork, meditation, and spiritual practices.
Gareth's journey into healing wasn't born from comfort - it emerged from the depths of personal struggle. After the birth of his second child, Gareth experienced postnatal depression, a chapter of his life marked by pain, isolation, and the weight of fear and guilt. For a year, Mirtazapine and Diazepam became part of his daily life, yet despite their presence, something always felt unresolved - as if the shadows lingered just beneath the surface.
"Just Breathe" was what he was told to do by the crisis team, who were on the other end of the phone whenever he was experiencing a panic attack. He acknowledges that while their intentions were good, telling someone who's having a panic attack, to "Just breathe" is like telling someone who's drowning, to "Just swim".
It was only when Gareth discovered breathwork and cold water therapy that everything began to shift. In the stillness of breath and the shock of icy water, he found a clarity and release that nothing else had offered. These practices became his sanctuary - the reason he was able to quit antidepressants overnight, without withdrawal or relapse. The healing he had been searching for emerged not through numbing the pain, but by meeting it head-on, with breath as his guide.
In time, Gareth came to believe that his hardships were not a punishment, but a calling.
The darkest moments of his life became the foundation for his greatest purpose: to help others find their way out of their own darkness.
This realisation became the seed from which Shakti Breathe was born - a unique system designed to unlock the full potential of the mind, body, and spirit. Through breathwork, mindfulness, and energy healing, Gareth's method offers a powerful yet compassionate pathway to reduce stress, overcome trauma, and rediscover clarity and vitality. His experiences allow him to connect deeply with those he teaches, not from a place of theory, but from lived experience.
Gareth's intuitive and compassionate teaching style resonates with those who feel unseen or unheard. Whether guiding a large workshop, a one-on-one session, or an online course, he creates a space where vulnerability is welcomed, and healing begins. His belief is simple but profound - that to heal, we must first face the parts of ourselves we fear the most.
What began as a hope to help just one person has grown into a global community, where Gareth's work has touched thousands. And while his journey continues, he carries with him the truth that even the darkest paths can lead to light - and that no one has to walk them alone.
